Exploring the liminal space between architectural rigidity and fluid emotional states — engineering raw earth into tangible form.
Beth M. Lee
Every vessel is an exploration of the space between raw geology and engineered form. Mined clay, oxidized iron, and natural ash fuse under extreme heat to create artifacts that bridge the ancient and the modern.
Each piece is unique. Hand-coiled, thrown, and finished using centuries-old techniques with a modernist sensibility.
Stoneware and Iron Oxide
A vessel that holds the whispers of the earth — each coil telling a story.
Stoneware and Iron Oxide
A torso that speaks of resilience — the strength found in vulnerability.
Stoneware and Iron Oxide
A mirror that reflects the changing light of the room — a constant dance.
Stoneware and Iron Oxide
A vessel that holds stories of love, loss, and the quiet strength of form.
Stoneware and Iron Oxide
A quiet ode to domesticity and the beauty of everyday rituals.
Stoneware and Iron Oxide
A deeply personal piece, transformed into an object of strength and reverence.
Beth M. Lee's practice is rooted in a deep reverence for geological time and raw materiality. After spending over a decade studying classical architectural forms, she abandoned symmetry in pursuit of something vastly more visceral.
Her work bridges the gap between structured permanence and emotional erosion — utilizing locally forged iron oxides, reclaimed ash, and custom-mixed stonewares to construct monuments that feel simultaneously ancient and intensely modern.

To touch the clay is to converse with a timeline much older than our own. We do not invent form; we merely uncover the tension resting within it.
